Core stability and proprioceptive work of the foot in the control of postural tone for the prevention of ankle trauma in young basketball players
Target: Search for a concrete solution proposal in the prevention of ankle injuries in young basketball players, using a program of ankle exercises and core stability training.
Method:
A total of 20 participants from 13 to 16 years of age, of female gender, practicing the sport of basketball at a competitive level will undergo a 10-week training protocol. The young players will be tested three times, pre and post protocol with a stabilometric platform (FREE STEP Sensor Medica), functional tests and mobility tests. The training will consist of some techniques proposed by exponents of the Prague School such as DNS (Dynamic neuromuscular stabilization).
Results:
At the end of the protocol we expect an improvement in the recruitment of the core and intrinsic musculature of the foot with a consequential positive result in terms of stability and mobility of the ankle, a result to be verified on the stabilometric platform, for the purpose of a more qualitative, quantitative and safe performance. of the athlete.
